"Monster Amino" is really a misnomer as the product is 30g of carbs and 5g BCAA per serving, which makes for a great workout fuel. BCAA's aren't very soluble by nature but both products seem to do a pretty good job with mixability. It especially helps to use water that isn't too cold. I also find the run finishes mixing the product but also produces a bit of carbonation.Andrew Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12875289732561967695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548270349957285223.post-62456101346629561812011-04-14T07:18:17.454-07:002011-04-14T07:18:17.454-07:00Thanks for the nice race report Andrew. I asked because years ago I tried the muscle nitro pills while playing soccer and they *seemed* to work. But I can't swallow the pills and I found the stuff inside is super nasty and not soluble in anything (I even tried alcohol).Garthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06452125195868922617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548270349957285223.post-6684363042995302952011-04-12T11:00:06.896-07:002011-04-12T11:00:06.896-07:00Der Scott

Too much coffee...

I nominate AC to receive the "prize"! ;-)derscotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16562035275775508430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548270349957285223.post-31819202857541120962011-04-11T20:24:18.990-07:002011-04-11T20:24:18.990-07:00.:Ashe:.

Regarding the contest, ac is currently in the lead, but if you change your mind I'm leaving it open for a week!

ac
Nice catch on the MST3K reference! I used to watch that show all the time with my brother. Mt. Doom is a great idea, I guess I wasn't thinking too clearly at 3am when I wrote this..could even explain the contest. I should have just gone in the woods, but I figured I would put in a show of solidarity for the wife. Hopefully there are many more double digit runs in my future!

P.S. you are the current front runner in the contest!Andrew Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12875289732561967695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548270349957285223.post-40950977602347865782011-04-11T17:57:56.218-07:002011-04-11T17:57:56.218-07:00Love the Mystery Science Theater reference and am ...Love the Mystery Science Theater reference and am still chuckling over Eye of Sauron. Though I am surprised you didn't also throw in a Mt. Doom analogy. Do I win the body glide?

Seriously though, at trail races you can avoid the trip into Mordor because it is customary for guys to just take a leak in the woods. At least I think it is, cause I always do.

Congrats on your first double digit run!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548270349957285223.post-53864676679496785582011-04-11T12:33:14.909-07:002011-04-11T12:33:14.909-07:00That's such a great race story. (If there were anyone there taking photos at the finish, that is)

Congrats on pushing through and conquering that challenging course. Some of those roots were brutally inconspicuous.

Oh, and, I'm refusing to name any of the references so as to avoid any chance of me receiving that stick of body glide.Tobias Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09717520650782636286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7548270349957285223.post-82633442378339168642011-04-11T09:26:27.165-07:002011-04-11T09:26:27.165-07:00That's disgusting and you're always in the...That's disgusting and you're always in the dog house ;-)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17597498782488888127noreply@blogger.com
